Cheltenham roof collapse smashes car windscreen

The roof above several Regency buildings in Cheltenham collapsed, smashing a car windscreen.
The roof above two buildings in Imperial Square fell down on 16 March, with bricks and rubble landing on a red Mercedes below.
A cordon was in place as fire crew members and police attended the scene.
Cheltenham resident Stephen Wilkins said it was "fortunate nobody was hurt" in the "pretty serious" collapse.
The road is believed to have been cordoned off to stop people walking past as rubble and dust covered the pavement outside a couple of four-storey homes.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to the collapse of the roof of a building in Imperial Square, Cheltenham, at 16:00 on Saturday 16 March.
"One engine, from Cheltenham East, attended and made the scene safe."
Cheltenham Borough Council thanked residents and businesses for their patience after making the building safe.
"We have used our enforcement powers under The Building Act to instigate the necessary work at Imperial Square and make the building safe," a spokesperson said.
"Temporary scaffolding has been put up to both secure the buildings and for public safety, whilst the investigations by our surveyors and structural engineers continue."
