Michael Freshwater death: Partner's plea over killing

Michael Freshwater was found stabbed to death at a flat in Southampton on 29 April

The partner of a man found stabbed to death at his flat has urged the public to come forward with information.

Jenny Downey, described Michael Freshwater, 49, as the "perfect gentleman" and said she "still can't accept" his death.

He was found dead at his flat in Westridge Road, Southampton, on 29 April.

To date 12 arrests have been made in connection with Mr Freshwater's death, but no-one has yet been charged.

'Pain never ends'

In an emotional appeal, Ms Downey said: "Micky was the love of my life, my rock, my best friend, my world, my everything. I will never stop missing him or loving him.

"I feel so lost without him and the pain never ends. I still can't accept he's gone."

Crimestoppers is offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible.

Ms Downey added: "I just want to know what happened and get justice for something that is so, so cruel."

Hampshire Constabulary said it is believed there was a dispute at the property before Mr Freshwater's body was discovered.

  • Man, 22, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and conspiracy to supply class A drugs - bailed until 5 July

  • Woman, 23, arrested on suspicion of two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs - bailed until 6 July

  • Man, 24, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and assisting an offender - bailed until 6 July

  • Man, 25, from Hampshire, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice - has since been eliminated from enquiries.

  • Man, 26, arrested on suspicion of murder - bailed until 2 August

  • Man, 26, charged with perverting the course of justice - remanded in custody

  • Woman, 30, from Southampton, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice - bailed until 10 June

  • Man, 34, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender - bailed until July 7

  • Man, 35, arrested on suspicion of murder - later released without charge

  • Man, 43, from Southampton, arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs - bailed until 5 July
