King Alfred's Way: BBC reporter reaches Thursley Common

A cycling route that passes through four counties in the south of England passes through important ecological habitats.

BBC South reporter Jon Cuthill is spending a week exploring the 220-mile cycling route called the King Alfred's Way.

The fourth day of his challenge saw him cycle from Farnham through one of the most precious ecological sites in the south - the Thursley Common nature reserve in Surrey.

After starting in Winchester on Monday, he has previously ridden through Wiltshire to Wantage in Oxfordshire and on to Farnham.
