A major route through Hereford, closed as part of the revamp of the old market site, will reopen a week early.

The eastbound carriageway of Newmarket Street was shut earlier this month but opens on Friday after Welsh Water upgraded its pipes.

The works between the Tesco roundabout and the Widemarsh Street junction were expected to last four weeks.

The £90m regeneration of the former market will include shops, restaurants and a six-screen cinema.
