M62 Ouse Bridge repairs extended to August 2024

The full reopening of a major East Yorkshire motorway bridge has been delayed by a further nine months.
National Highways ordered repairs on the M62 Ouse Bridge near Goole in March 2022 after a damaged joint was found.
The agency later said all eight joints across both carriageways needed replacing, with repairs expected to be completed by this autumn.
That was later revised to early 2024, but has now been extended to the end of August next year.
National Highways said work to the hard shoulder and all three lanes of the eastbound carriageway was now forecast to be completed by mid-May 2024.
The organisation said it expected the bridge to fully reopen once work to the westbound stretch was fully completed at the end of August.
Phil Jepps, National Highways' programme delivery manager, apologised for the extension, saying: "I appreciate this has caused further delays and disruption."
Mr Jepps said he sympathised with people "having to slow down to cross the bridge works" and said he valued motorists' patience during what was "necessary work".
"For us not to do anything, or to allow the bridge to get any worse, would be potential for us shutting the bridge and nobody wants that," he said.
