A new banking hub has been opened in a North Lincolnshire town, a year after the last remaining bank branch closed.

The facility in Barton-Upon-Humber will provide services for most major banks.

It is located in the former Lloyds Bank premises in the town's Market Place, which was the last bank to shut its doors in November 2022.

Customers of HSBC, NatWest, Lloyds, Santander and Barclays will be able talk to staff face-to-face on different days of the week.

An online petition calling for the opening of a hub attracted more than 1,500 signatures.

Ben Troop who started the campaign said he believed that "access to cash to still be very important to everyone and especially the older generation who tend to have less access to online banking".
