A taxi driver is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in Blackpool.
The man was attacked in his Hackney cab in Mythop Road on Wednesday just before 23:30 GMT, Lancashire Police said.
The driver, who is in his 30s, is said to be in a "serious but stable condition" in hospital.
His dashcam was also stolen during what police described as an "isolated incident", and patrols have been stepped up.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage to contact them.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson added: "We understand that this incident will cause the community a great deal of concern.
"We want to reassure everyone that while work is ongoing to understand the motive for the assault this is very much being treated as an isolated incident.
"We have increased reassurance patrols in the area as a precaution and if you have any concerns or any information which could assist our investigation, please stop an officer and talk to them."
