Wakefield: Man in court accused of attempting to murder girlfriend

Mr Swindells has been remanded in custody while he awaits trial
A man accused of trying to kill his partner in Wakefield will go on trial later this year.
Benjamin Swindells, 29, of no fixed address, is accused of the attempted murder of Sophie Conroy and causing her grievous bodily harm with intent on 13 April.
Mr Swindells pleaded not guilty to both charges when he appeared at Leeds Crown Court via video link on Monday.
Judge Simon Phillips KC set a trial date of 14 October.
The trial is expected to last up to four days.
