The number of crimes reported at the Download Festival at Castle Donington in Leicestershire has fallen for a second year.

Leicestershire Police said 159 crimes were reported between 8 and 13 June, compared to 213 in 2010.

The majority of offences were thefts from tents - 81 in 2011 compared to 121 last year.

The festival attracted more than 70,000 music fans and saw 46,000 people camping across 13 sites.

Insp Chris Brown, from Leicestershire Police, said: "I am obviously delighted to see another fall in crime this year, although these figures may go up slightly as experience tells us that people to continue to report crimes some months after the event.

"The atmosphere throughout the festival was great and it passed off without major incident."
