Josephine Smith died from smoke inhalation

An 88-year-old woman who died in a house fire in east London has been named.

Josephine Smith died at the scene of the blaze, on Queens Park Road in Romford, at about 22:15 BST on 28 October.

A firework was recovered but police have said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

A post-mortem on Sunday gave the cause of death as smoke inhalation and Ms Smith's family has been informed.

A 15-year-old boy, and a man and a woman, both 18, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

They have all been bailed to return on a date in late November.
