Croydon residents react to Borough of Culture announcement

Croydon recently unveiled its calendar of events as it becomes the 2023 London Borough of Culture.

Street festivals, dance, music and theatre productions will run from April until March 2024.

But in a bankrupt borough trying to fix its finances, where many are struggling with the rising cost of living, could events highlighting its creativity be what brings it back from the brink?
