Old Marylebone Town Hall offers £100 ceremonies to 100 couples

The venue that hosted weddings for Ringo Starr, Cilla Black and Sir Paul McCartney is offering 100 couples the chance to marry or form a civil partnership for £100.
Old Marylebone Town Hall in London will host the ceremonies on 1 October, 2024 to celebrate its centenary.
One of the busiest wedding locations in England, it holds about 2,500 ceremonies per year.
Ceremonies usually cost between £621 and £1,231, depending on the day.
On 1 October, the hall's 75 staff will aim to deliver seven ceremonies an hour, with up to eight guests. The services will start from 08:00 BST and run until 22:30.
Old Marylebone Town Hall said it had been "celebrating extraordinary love stories for generations", and was reopened in 2018 after an extensive four-year refurbishment.
Other celebrities who have married there include Sean Bean and Liam Gallagher.
Applications for ceremonies are open for people who live, work or study in Westminster until 1 December. They will then open for anyone to apply.
Charlotte and Ellen, who got married at Old Marylebone Town Hall in September, said while they knew the venue was a "stunning building with beautiful rooms", they had no idea they would be "so well looked after".
"The registrars and staff made it such a lovely and individual occasion - it made our day even more amazing than we thought it possibly could be," they said.
Alison Cathcart, Superintendent Registrar for Westminster from 1991 to 2019, said she had been "so proud and privileged to be involved in many magical moments in this venue to the stars".
"I'm delighted we are celebrating 100 years of ceremonies at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall - a beautiful venue that has hosted 1000s of weddings, not only for Westminster residents, but for loving couples from all over the world," she said.
"In my humble opinion it is an unrivalled location in which to be married in the whole of the United Kingdom."
Tim Roca, cabinet member for young people, learning and culture at Westminster City Council, said they were lucky to be the custodians of "one of Britain's most illustrious and cherished wedding venues".
"I am excited to see 100 couples marry on 1 October and hope that we see lots of our local people at the hall," he said.
