The Great British Menu: Winning London chef teaches BBC reporter how to cook
London chef Kate Austen has just made history as the first woman to win the main course competition in the BBC series The Great British Menu.
Austen, who lives in Hackney, east London, has spent her career working in Scandinavia in some of the world's best restaurants but, since the pandemic, began working as a senior development chef for Gordon Ramsay.
She says The Great British Menu experience was one of the most challenging things she's ever done - but how does she fare as a teacher?
Self-professed "awful" cook and BBC London reporter Frankie McCamley recently caught up with Kate to be taught how to cook the perfect steak.
