A 17-year-old has been arrested in the Netherlands over the murder of a 16-year-old boy who was shot in the head outside a pub in Greater Manchester.
Guiseppe Gregory, from Ardwick, was shot dead outside the Robin Hood pub in Stretford on 10 May 2009.
The suspect, who was wanted on a European Arrest Warrant, was arrested on a train by Dutch police on Thursday.
He was taken to a detention centre in Rotterdam and is due to appear at a court in Amsterdam later.
An application for his extradition to the UK will then be made.
Two convicted
The teenager was arrested in a joint operation between Dutch police, Greater Manchester Police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).
He was a target of Project Gulf - a multi-agency initiative to tackle organised crime in Salford.
The suspect is the eighth fugitive to be caught since the project was launched seven months ago.
A SOCA spokesperson said: "The Gulf team are delighted with the arrest of this individual which should serve as a clear warning to anybody who thinks they can evade the criminal justice system."
Mr Gregory was injured when shots were fired into the back of a car in the pub car park.
He was taken to hospital but died soon afterwards.
Two men were convicted of his murder in a trial at Manchester Crown Court last year.
Njabulo Ndlovu, 19, of Shackleton Court, Newton Heath, and Hiruy Zerihun, 18, of Lloyd Street South, Moss Side, were both jailed for life.
The pair carried out the attack in revenge for the murder of Zerihun's friend, Louis Brathwaite, who was shot inside William Hill on Mauldeth Road West, Withington, in January 2008.
