Several roads in Manchester city centre will be closed for the duration of the Conservative Party conference.

The closures are around Manchester Central, where the conference takes place from Sunday 2 to Wednesday 5 October.

Parts of Lower Mosley Street, Peter Street, Oxford Street and Mount Street will be closed to traffic.

There will be no changes to the Metrolink tram network, which runs next to the conference site.

The road closures, which began on Tuesday, will be in place until the early hours of Thursday 6 October.

From Friday, Lower Mosley Street, St Peter's Square and Peter Street will be closed to motorists, as will the joining thoroughfares of Windmill Street, Dickinson Street and George Street.

A complete list of all roads being closed is available on the Manchester City Council, external website.

The conference will also see the closure of the Manchester Central NCP car park on Friday, which will reopen at 5pm on Wednesday 5 October.

Buses will run as normal but any routes running through the closed area will be diverted.
