Salford shootings: Two held following sixth incident

Two people have been arrested following a spate of shootings between rival groups in Salford.
In the latest incident, a gunman fired shots at a house on Acresfield Road in Irlam o' th' Height shortly before 17:30 BST on Thursday.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said six recently reported shootings were linked to an escalating feud.
No-one has been injured but police have issued a "significant number" of threat-to-life warnings.
Ch Supt Kevin Mulligan said armed police were on the streets as they sought to tackle "serious and orgnanised crime" in the city.
"We do know these attacks are targeted and it's an ongoing dispute between two rival groups.
"But it's a very serious situation and we are doing all we can to get to the bottom of it."
Mr Mulligan added that in the wake of the shootings, the force had issued threat-to-life warnings - sometimes called "Osman warnings" - to a large number of individuals who they believed were under threat of being murdered or seriously injured.
He also revealed that the force had made almost 500 arrests in and around Salford in the past 12 months, confiscating "a large amount of drugs and money from organised crime groups in Salford and Greater Manchester as a whole".
Shots fired
The latest spate of shootings in Salford began on 9 September.
The first incident took place at about 22:30 BST at Enville Road, Duchy, Salford. Police said a car window was damaged.
Police were called to The Gardens, Eccles, the following day after reports of shots being fired. However, officers who attended could not find any evidence of a firearms discharge.
On 13 September there was another report of a shot being fired at Summerville Road, Duchy, and on Tuesday police said shots were fired at the front door and window of a house in Hayfield, Salford.
The fifth incident took place on Wednesday when officers on patrol noticed damage to the door of a house on Doveleys Road, Salford, consistent with a shot having being fired.
Police patrols have been increased and armed officers are in the area.
