A 57-year-old man questioned by police investigating historical sex abuse at a music school in Manchester has been bailed.

Violin teacher Wen Zhou Li, of Cheshire, who teaches at Chetham's School of Music, was arrested on Thursday.

Greater Manchester Police said he had been released on bail until June pending further inquiries.

Mr Li is also a tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music.

A spokesman for Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham's School of Music said Mr Li's suspension still applies.

On 8 February former choir director Michael Brewer and his ex-wife Kay were convicted of indecently assaulting a former pupil at the school.

They had abused Frances Andrade between 1978 and 1982. Mrs Andrade took her own life after giving evidence at their trial.

Brewer, now of Selly Oak, Birmingham, was found guilty of carrying out the sexual abuse in his office at Chetham's.

Hilary Brewer, also known by her middle name Kay, of Knowl Gap Avenue, Haslingden, was convicted of indecently assaulting the same victim at their family home.
