The family of a "kind" university graduate stabbed to death in Manchester have paid tribute to him as detectives arrest a man on suspicion of murder.
Badri Issa, 22, died after he was attacked in Moss Side on Wednesday.
Paying tribute, relatives said Mr Issa was "kind and friendly" and was looking forward to starting a career in mechanical engineering.
A 21-year-old man has been held after police launched a search for two men who fled the scene, at about 20:00 BST.
The force previously said officers "do not believe this was a random attack".
A helicopter was being used in the search, and officers are continuing to appeal to the public for help.
In a tribute, Mr Issa's family said: "Badri was well loved at home and in the community.
"He was respectful and lovely and always put others first.
"He was kind and friendly and always smiling. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him."
Det Ch Insp Andy Naismith said: "We are working at pace to establish the circumstances that very tragically led to this young man's death.
"Our thoughts continue to remain with Badri's family, as officers continue to support them through this devastating time."
"I ask anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area that evening to come forward and know that any information provided will be treated with the strictest confidence.
"It only takes one crucial piece of information that may be key to getting answers for his family."
