The family of a Bolton man killed in a motorbike crash involving a police officer have paid tribute to the "funny and charming" grandad.
Alan Plimley, 51, died at the scene of the crash on Blackburn Road in Egerton, Bolton, at about 16:00 GMT on Tuesday, 30 January.
The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officer was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
GMP have appealed for information.
The case has also been referred to watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
In a statement released through GMP, Mr Plimley's family described him as "the best of the best".
They said: "Alan was a loving father, grandad, brother and son. He was the life and soul of a party, and would light up the room as result.
"He was a very funny and charming man and life will not be the same without him now.
"Everybody loves you Alan, always and forever and until we meet again."
GMP said the officer was "driving a private vehicle" at the time of the crash and urged any witnesses, or anyone with CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage to come forward.
