A footballer has admitted assaulting a paramedic in Liverpool city centre.

Adam Hammill, 24, of Bootle, was arrested after an incident on Temple Court in the early hours of 7 October.

At Liverpool Magistrates' Court he admitted two counts of assault and was released on bail until 20 November when he will be sentenced.

Club bosses at Huddersfield Town, where he is currently on loan from Wolves, said he could now face further disciplinary action.

A spokesman said: "Adam has already been subject to an internal disciplinary procedure at the club, but we will revisit any possible further action when the legal process has been concluded."
