Six held as police uncover Merseyside stolen car workshops

Six people have been arrested after police discovered two workshops where stolen motor parts and cars were being reassembled.
Merseyside Police raided an industrial unit in Kirkby after finding a stolen car and a man working on a suspected stolen Mercedes.
A Litherland man, 40, two men aged 34 and 36 a woman, 35, from Kirkby, were held on suspicion of theft.
Two further men were held after a smell of cannabis led police to another unit.
Those men, aged 33 and 43 from Kirkby, were held on suspicion of cannabis dealing and theft.
A police spokeswoman said officers seized cannabis and three mobile phones.
He said they discovered several electric vehicles and quad bikes stored in the second workshop without registration marks, alongside further vehicles and parts suspected of being stolen.
Ch Insp Christopher Ruane said: "We recognise that the theft of a vehicle, which is likely to be one of the most expensive items a person owns, has a significant impact on owners.
"This is totally unacceptable and we are determined to prevent as many car thefts as possible."
