Merseyside Police make arrest after man shot in the face

Police have made an arrest after a man in his 30s was shot in the face.
The injured man was found in a house on Derbyshire Hill Road in St Helens, Merseyside, on Monday.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for a facial injury "sustained by a gunshot to his face", Merseyside Police said.
A 36-year-old St Helens man has now been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He has been taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning.
The force said the injured man has now been discharged from hospital.
'Extensive search'
Officers recovered a "suspected firearm" during a search of the surrounding area after the incident, which was reported to have happened at about 11:55 GMT on Monday.
Det Insp John Mullen said the weapon could "have been used to cause violence on our streets" if it "fell into the wrong hands".
He appealed for anyone with information, or footage that might be relevant to the investigation, to get in touch with Merseyside Police.
