St Helens: Firearms charges after man shot in face in attack

A man has been charged after another man was shot in the face in an attack.

Merseyside Police said officers found the injured man at a property on Derbyshire Hill Road, St Helens, at about 11:55 GMT on Monday.

The force said the 36-year-old man suffered facial injuries and has since left hospital. Detectives believe the attack was an isolated incident.

A man, also aged 36 and of no fixed address, has been charged with four firearm offences.

He was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition without a certificate, possession of a firearm when prohibited for life and possession of ammunition for a firearm when prohibited for life.

Merseyside Police said there were no reports of any other injuries and added it was not looking for anyone in relation to the investigation.
