A pedestrian has died after a road traffic collision which involved three vehicles, police have confirmed.

The emergency services were called to the northbound A43 between the Abthorpe Roundabout and Silverstone at about 23:45 GMT on Tuesday.

Police said the man died at the scene after he was hit by a BMW 420 car.

Two other vehicles - a DAF 530 lorry and a white Vauxhall Corsa - were also involved in the crash, Northamptonshire Police said.

Both carriageways of the A43 were closed while collision investigators and emergency services responded to the incident.

The road fully reopened shortly after 15:00 on Wednesday.

"Officers are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident, including dash-cam footage, to get in touch," the police said.
