Nottinghamshire floods: Environment Agency warnings remain

Heavy rain caused flooding in many areas of the county over the weekend

Flood warnings remain across parts of Nottinghamshire after heavy rainfall over the weekend.

The Environment Agency, external told residents in flood-prone areas to watch water levels closely.

Several flood warnings are in force along the River Trent, including Newark, and along the River Maun at Mansfield.

There are almost 300 flood warnings and 300 flood alerts in England and Wales, and two flood alerts in Scotland.

Nottingham City Council, external has said the following roads and services are affected by the weather:

  • Queen's Drive Park and Ride is to close at 21:00 GMT on Monday and remain closed on Tuesday. The Medilink bus service is to continue to operate between hospitals but is to miss out the Queen's Drive loop.

  • A617 between Kelham and the A46 roundabout at Newark

  • A6006 at Zouch - No access between A60 Rempstone Road and A6 at Hathern

  • A612 at Lowdham

  • Many minor roads in the Trent and Soar valleys are likely to be closed

  • Manor Road from Gunthorpe bridge to Shelford is closed due to flooding

Nottinghamshire County Council, external said it planned to move 25 residents at Hazelford Ferry Care Home in Bleasby to alternative care homes because of a risk of flooding in the area.

Race meetings at Southwell Racecourse on Monday and Tuesday have been abandoned due to water-logging.
