Police have now arrested five people in total

Police investigating reports of gunshots in a Nottinghamshire street have arrested three more people.

Officers were called to Edwalton Court, Mansfield, at 21:00 BST on Thursday after two shots were heard, but no injuries reported.

On Monday, two men, aged 39 and 22, and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of "firearm offences", Nottinghamshire Police said.

The other suspects - a man, 30, and woman, aged 34 - are on police bail.

An investigation into what happened is ongoing.

Det Insp James Oakton said: "I am pleased we now have additional suspects in custody but would like to repeat my previous appeal to witnesses to come forward - particularly those who may have video footage recorded at the time of the incident."
