An emu with a "distinctive white mark" on her beak has gone missing in Oxfordshire, prompting a police hunt and a Rod Hull hashtag.

A Thames Valley officer has tweeted: "Emu Missing from the Wheatley Area, any sightings please call 101 #RodHull".

Police now say the five-month-old emu could be in the Thame area.

On Twitter one man asked runners to "look out for a big bird, doing 40 top speed".

Others suggested the bird may have been found in Cambridgeshire where another emu was found wandering in a driveway near Newmarket on Monday.

However, the emu in Cambridgeshire, Monty, has since been re-united with his owners.
