Telford Ice Rink in £4m refurbishment

Work has begun on a £4m revamp of Telford Ice Rink, including a rebuilt ice-making room.

The refurbishment will also include a softball play area for children aged under eight, and a new bar area.

The development is part of a wider £250m leisure facility which will include a cinema and restaurants.

Telford & Wrekin Council said the rink would reopen in October. A temporary synthetic skating facility has opened in Southwater Square.
