Richard Scatchard: £10k reward for information on sex offender
- Published
Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the arrest of convicted sex offender Richard Scatchard.
His partner, Kelly Faiers, 61, from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, was found "critically ill" at his Minehead home before dying on 15 October.
Scatchard is wanted for questioning over her death and has been added to the Crimestoppers Most Wanted list.
Members of the public have been warned not to approach the 70-year-old.
Karen MacDonald, Regional Manager for the West Country at the charity Crimestoppers, said: "This man is dangerous and needs to be found urgently.
"If you know where he is, but prefer not to talk to the police, you can contact our charity and tell us anonymously what you know."
Despite more than 90 sightings of him in the area being reported to police, Scatchard has not been officially seen since the day following Ms Faiers' death.
Avon and Somerset Police has faced criticism for not informing the public that Scatchard was a convicted sex offender.
However, an initial assessment found the force's response on Sunday 15 October is not considered to be of misconduct level and/or requiring an IOPC referral.
Anyone with information about Scatchard's whereabouts is asked to contact Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111, which is in operation 24 hours a day.
