A 17-year-old from Bath who was arrested following a stabbing has been released on police bail.

The stabbing happened in the Royal Avenue and Queen's Parade area of Bath shortly after 21:00 GMT on Sunday.

An 18-year-old man from Chippenham sustained "potentially life-changing injuries" in the attack. A 20-year-old man, with no fixed address, was also injured in his arm and face.

A police cordon was put in place in Royal Victoria Park after the stabbing.

The park is close to one of Bath's most popular tourist spots, the Royal Crescent.

Det Insp Hannah Marsh said incidents like this were uncommon in Bath and it was likely to cause people alarm.

"We're keen on hearing from anyone who witnessed it or who has information which could help us," she said.
