New 20mph areas are to be introduced around schools in Sheffield.

Four areas are already in operation around Lowedges Primary; Woodthorpe Community Primary; Southey Green Primary and Westways Primary.

A further three schemes will be introduced by March around schools in Stocksbridge; High Green and Charnock.

Sheffield City Council has allocated £300,000 to pay for signage and road markings in the seven areas.

The zones will be paid for from Sheffield's Local Transport Plan funding from the government.
