Thomas Groome inquiry: Two men released without charge

Two men arrested on suspicion of murdering a man who vanished four years ago have been released without charge.

Thomas Groome, 56, from Ireland, has not been seen since he left his son's house in Doncaster on 1 January 2010.

The men, aged 24 and 58, from Bentley, have been released from bail after being arrested in March last year.

A 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Wheatley, and a woman, 56, from Doncaster, also arrested on suspicion of murder, remain on bail.

Mr Groome, who was 54 when he disappeared, is described by South Yorkshire Police as 5ft 8in (1.7m) tall and of slim build, with receding greying hair and a strong southern Irish accent.

He was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt, blue and white chequered shirt and a light coloured, knitted cardigan.

His family thought he had gone to Portugal but reported him missing when they could not contact him.
