The redevelopment of Redhill station in Surrey, along with a supermarket and new homes, has been given the go-ahead.
The £40m regeneration project was approved by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council's planning committee.
It will include a new ticket hall, a public square outside the main station entrance and a multi-storey car park.
Developers Solum Regeneration, which is a joint venture between Network Rail and Kier Property, hope to start work on the scheme early next year.
