Man charged over Reigate hit-and-run soldier death

A man has been charged with five driving offences in connection with the death of a soldier hit by a car.
Ben Regan, 20, who served with the Coldstream Guards, was pronounced dead in Bell Street, Reigate, in Surrey, early on 20 June.
Jake Polmeer, 27, of Bushfield Drive, Redhill, is due to appear before Redhill magistrates on 11 January 2016.
A 27-year-old woman from Horley has been summonsed for permitting a vehicle to be driven with no insurance.
Mr Polmeer has been charged with causing death by careless driving, causing death by driving a vehicle while uninsured, using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic accident and failing to report an accident.
