Robyn Mercer died from multiple blows to the head

Detectives investigating the murder of an antiques dealer who was bludgeoned to death outside her Surrey home have charged a man with falsifying a will.

Robyn Mercer, 50, was killed with either an axe or a machete in West Molesey on 14 March, and found dead at the end of her driveway in Walton Road.

Robert Webb, 53, of Walton Road, West Molesey, has been charged with fraud by false representation.

He is due to appear before Staines magistrates on 1 March.

Surrey Police said he was accused of falsifying a will around 20 September last year.

'Loving mother'

A post-mortem examination revealed the mother-of-two died after suffering multiple blows to her head.

Police believe she was attacked and struck repeatedly on the ground after going out to put something in her bins.

Ms Mercer, a silver specialist, was described by relatives as a "wonderful person, loving mother and devoted friend".

Despite a £10,000 reward offered by Crimestoppers and the case featuring on the BBC's Crimewatch programme, no-one has been charged with her killing.

Four people arrested in connection with her death remain on bail.
