A3 Surrey: Police release footage of aftermath of three-vehicle crash

A man who caused a three-vehicle crash driving the wrong way up the A3 in Surrey has been jailed.

Shane Mackay, 36, and from Farnham, was two and a half times over the drug drive limit and twice the drink drive limit when he caused the collision in December 2022.

Sgt Dan Ayrton from the Surrey Roads Policing Unit said: "When you see the wreckage of the vehicles involved it is sheer luck that no-one was killed or seriously injured in this case."

He was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on 2 May after pleading guilty to dangerous driving.
