Two men arrested as flames destroyed Hastings Pier have had their bail extended for a fourth time while police continue their investigation.

The men, both aged 19, from St Leonards, were arrested on suspicion of arson shortly after the fire broke out on 5 October.

Both men answered police bail on Monday and were rebailed until 4 April.

The blaze took four days to put out and destroyed 95% of the upper part of the East Sussex pier.

Both men were arrested and questioned as crews fought the flames.

Earlier this month the Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust announced plans to sell sponsored wooden planks to raise funds to get the structure rebuilt.

The trust said money raised would match funding from organisations such as the Heritage Lottery Fund.

It recently unveiled the architects firm which will design a new look pier.
