Human remains thought to be those of a bomb disposal expert who disappeared two years ago have been found.

Mark Manning, 54, from Lancing, West Sussex, was last seen in April 2014. A murder investigation was launched in June 2014.

Sussex Police said unidentified remains found on land near Slaugham are believed to be those of Mr Manning.

Stewart Robertson, 50, from Portslade has been charged on suspicion of preventing a lawful burial.

Mr Robertson, of St Aubyn's Road, is due to appear before Crawley magistrates on Friday.

Mr Manning's family has been informed of the developments although no formal identification of the body has taken place yet.

Colin Gale, 39, of Offington Lane, Worthing, was charged with Mr Manning's murder in January this year.

He is due to stand trial on 4 July at Lewes Crown Court.
