Hove: Thousands share views on King Alfred Leisure Centre plans

More than 3,500 residents have shared their views on plans to replace an East Sussex leisure centre.
Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) said the current King Alfred Leisure Centre is in constant need of repair.
Councillor Alan Robins said after several failed attempts to redevelop, BHCC had a "once in a lifetime" chance.
He said the response to the questionnaire - which ended on Friday - showed how much local people wanted to be involved.
BHCC said two sites were being considered for a new flagship leisure centre in the west of the city, as part of the council's plan to provide three main leisure "hubs".
They are the existing King Alfred site and land to the south of Sainsbury's car park at the junction of Old Shoreham Road and the A293.
'Modern and sustainable'
BHCC said each site offered potential for a "state of the art" leisure centre, with facilities that included a 25m competition swimming pool, a learner pool, sports hall, fitness facilities and a café.
Mr Robins said: "We will be taking all comments on board as we move forward to the next stage and work with independent experts to develop an exciting, modern and sustainable leisure centre we can all be proud of."
The final decision will be taken back to the council's culture, heritage, sports, tourism and economic development committee in the summer.
On site work is expected to begin in 2025.
