Horsham: Man speaks of horror after tree falls on bus and van
- Published
A man has spoken of the terrifying moment a tree fell on the van he was in during high winds.
The tree also hit a bus when it came down on Guildford Road, Horsham, at about 12:45 GMT on Monday.
Mate Nagy told BBC Radio Sussex: "If [the driver] braked two, three seconds later or whatever, maybe we would not be talking now."
Mr Nagy, who injured his back and elbow when it happened, said he struggled to sleep later that night.
He also described the moment he saw the tree falling.
Mr Nagy, who was in the van with two other people, said: "I was just preparing for the hit. I took a deep breath and just 'bang'."
"All the glass was flying into us, into our mouths," he added.
Six people were assessed and treated at the scene for injuries believed to be minor, three of whom were taken to hospital.
The road was temporarily closed while both vehicles were recovered and the tree removed. It has since reopened.
