A man who scooped £1m in a lottery draw on Christmas Day said he plans to use some of the money to open a live music venue.
Andrew Garth, from Middlesbrough, was one of the winners of the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle.
He found out he had won when he checked his ticket as he celebrated his 29th birthday on Boxing Day.
The freelance light and sound events technician said he had long dreamed of opening a live music venue in the area.
He checked the ticket during a party to celebrate his birthday.
"It was crazy. I kept getting waves of excitement then disbelief", he said.
Pay mortgages
"I must have checked the ticket at least five times before my friends came to find me. They thought I was playing a prank on them."
Mr Garth, who is a fan of dubstep and drum and bass music, said he would look at opening a venue to play the music he loved.
He said: "I love live music but sadly Middlesbrough doesn't offer the kind of taste that I like.
"I already have my eyes on a few places to buy, possibly near Teesside Park."
He said he would also use some of the money to pay off his parents' and sister's mortgages and to pay for his family to fly first class to Australia to visit his aunt.
