The revamped waterpark reopened on 4 August

A Tyneside waterpark was forced to close less than a week after reopening following a £1.1m refurbishment.

Wet 'n' Wild in North Shields went into administration in October after 20 years in business.

The revamped site, featuring a host of new facilities, reopened on 4 August after a partnership deal between Moirai Capital Investments and Serco Leisure.

But visitors were turned away on Saturday when the complex developed a fault with its air conditioning system.

The site reopened to visitors on Sunday.
