A service has been held to mark the closure of the Afghanistan Heroes Field of Remembrance in Wiltshire.

The field of remembrance, dedicated to those who have lost their lives in Afghanistan, is located within the grounds of Lydiard Park near Swindon.

Up to 30,000 crosses, each with a dedicated message, were planted in the walled garden at Lydiard House.

A short service took place at 15:30 GMT, as the sun set, to mark the closing of the field.

The temporary site was opened to the public on 9 November.

A two-minute silence was held at 14:00 GMT each day the garden was open.
