Man arrested in connection with series of incidents in Swindon

A robbery and sexual assault were reported in an alleyway off Ferndale Road in the early hours of Saturday morning

A man has been arrested in connection with several incidents in a town, including robbery, sexual assault, criminal damage, theft and grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Wiltshire Police arrested the man, in his 20s, in Pinehurst, Swindon, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Firearms officers supported police with the arrest.

The man remains in custody for questioning, police said.

It comes after a robbery and sexual assault were reported in an alleyway off Ferndale Road on Saturday at around 05:15 BST, and GBH and a theft were reported on Friday around 09:00 BST in Pinehurst.

There was also reports of an attempted robbery on Southbrook Street on 27 September.
