Police pulled over the car during a speed check

A man caught driving at 103 mph on the M4 in Wiltshire in a BMW 1 Series has been disqualified from driving.

Deivydas Trinkunus, 41, of Maes Knoll Drive, Whitchurch, Bristol, was stopped between junction 15 and 16 westbound near Swindon at approximately 16:00 BST on 30 September.

He was found to have no insurance and failed to provide a breath sample.

PC Ben Greening said his driving standard showed a "total disregard" for other road users.

Trinkunus appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on 3 November and pleaded guilty to driving at excess speed, using a vehicle without insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He was disqualified from driving for 20 months, fined £750, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £300 surcharge.

PC Ben Greening of the roads policing unit said: "Trinkunus was caught driving at 33mph over the speed limit on the M4 at what was a busy time of day.

"Not only was Trinkinus not insured to have been behind the wheel of a car, his standard of driving showed a total disregard for other road users and I am pleased the courts have handed him a lengthy disqualification."
