Police have asked people who may have seen a pedestrian being hit by a car in a supermarket car park to contact them.

Wiltshire Police said a man in his 50s was struck by the car in the Aldi car park on London Road in Salisbury.

He was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries not thought to be life-threatening, the force said.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident, which happened at about 19.00 GMT on Thursday.

"The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene," a police statement said.

"We are particularly interested in speaking to the occupants of two other vehicles that stopped at the scene to help," it added.
