Police said information from witnesses was "crucial" to the investigation

Police investigating the death of two men after the car they were in crashed through a garden wall are seeking new witnesses.

The car burst into flames after the collision on Poppyfields Way, Branton, Doncaster, at 12:50 BST on Tuesday.

South Yorkshire Police is trying to trace the occupants of an estate car, which was towing a caravan, close to the scene.

A third man remains in a critical condition following the crash.

Police are still trying to trace two other men, also believed to have been in the car, who fled the scene.

Both are thought to have been injured in the crash.

Insp Steve Askham, from South Yorkshire Police, said: "We believe those inside an estate car towing a caravan seen at the crash site when it happened could have witnessed the collision.

"We are still piecing together the events of that day and information from witnesses is crucial to finding answers about what happened.

"We continue to explore the possibility that a second car was involved in the incident and this will form part of our ongoing investigation."

The dead men have not been formally identified.
