Scarborough Grand Hotel evacuated due to 'bomb hoax'

A seaside hotel has reopened after being evacuated in what turned out to be a bomb hoax, police have said.
Guests and workers were asked to leave The Grand Hotel in Scarborough on Monday morning after staff reported a telephone call of a bomb threat.
North Yorkshire Police said specialist teams searched the building, but found "no evidence of any threat to public safety".
A cordon around the area has also been lifted, the force said.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: "The safety of everyone in the area and the emergency services who attended is our priority.
"We thank the staff, guests of the hotel and members of the public for their patience while we worked to establish the circumstances around the incident."
