MPs to debate rising fuel prices
MPs are set to debate a motion calling on the government to stem fuel price rises amid a public outcry over costs.
Tory MP Robert Halfon says more than 100 colleagues back his motion calling for ministers to rethink future fuel tax rises and ensure that falls in oil prices are passed on to motorists.
More than 100,000 people have signed an e-petition urging lower pump prices.
George Osborne cut fuel duty by 1p in March's Budget and also scrapped the annual fuel tax escalator.
Phil Lavelle reports.
