TUC general strike call: Sarah Veale and Digby Jones
Further industrial action was likely but a general strike looked "almost impossible" partly due to legislation, said the head of Employment Rights at the TUC.
Sarah Veale claimed unions were among "the most democratic organisations in the world" as she debated a TUC bid to look into the possibility of a general strike, along with Andrew Neil and former trade minister Lord (Digby) Jones of Birmingham.
It followed a Daily Politics film looking at industrial relations and potential strike action.
